I closed my eyes to soak in the beauty that July offered and suddenly it’s gone. Now it’s time to welcome August, which I call my transition month.
August is the last summer month and we do not want the fun to end. We are trying so hard to hold onto those last seasonal experiences. We know back to school is around the corner. Although we are not ready, for us, parents, we must start planning for the upcoming school year. We have to make sure our kids have what they need to be successful. For others, August is probably a transition from summer to fall. Probably, at the end of the month, some of us will start putting summer clothes away and fall decorations out.
Actually, August is a perfect month to reflect on how we want to end the year. It’s time to analyze what we have done so far, and what can be done to make the last quarter of the year productive. It’s not too late to work on all those goals that we have set at the beginning of the year. While it’s still bright outside, let’s make them happen. Let’s turn this month into the bridge that takes us from dream to reality.
If you have not done so yet, take some time during this month to reconnect with nature, do something fun, go to a new place, and remember to create some memories.
Have a blessed month of August.
I can’t believe it’s August already! My oldest starts Kindergarten on the 13th and we will be moving NEXT month! Crazy how fast time flies. <3 Such beautiful photos by the way!
Thank you, Jennifer, like you, my family and I are moving to another state next month.
This year has flown by – I can’t believe it’s August already! My daughter will be back at school in a few weeks and that will be when I sit back and reflect…
Great to hear, Kate, hope you enjoy this last summer month with your daughter.
I definitely feel like August is a transition month, but that probably has something to do with the kids going back to school. Their schedule seems to dictate how I feel about various times of year.
Same here, Nicole.
Say it ain’t so! I still have a summer bucket list to get to.
You could still make it happen, John!
I don’t know how it’s already August! My oldest starts kinder on the 20th and he’s so excited. Of course, in south Texas, our transition month from summer to fall doesn’t happen until at least October!
I am trying to understand this myself, Stephanie. As I am writing this, the second day of August is almost gone.
Love the idea of reflection and preparation for the year.
Same here, Daphne
I love the idea of using August as a time to evaluate yearlong goals. Although I’m not a fan of summer ending!
I don’t want it to end as well, Christa.
It’s definitely a transition month. Sounds like it’s a good time to think about how we want the year to end!
I think so too, Dennis!
August is always a turning point. The last month of summer, the last chance to get things done, to fullfill the plans you had for summer. It is valid for me as well.
Same here, Lyosha!

s hard to believe this already August. I am sad the summer is coming to an end. I love to swim.
Enjoy this last month to the fullest, Julie!
We are trying to spend as much time in nature as possible this summer. It’s been beautiful.
Keep enjoying it, Danielle!
I can’t believe we are already in the last month of summer! I like this idea, though . . . it’s the perfect time to get my goals in order for the rest of the year before the dreary weather sets in again.
Have a blessed and productive month, Ann!
Oh what beautiful flowers. August is a weird month with back to school creeping into summer!
Back school means back to reality for me, Holly!
This year is passing so fast. I love my days at the beach so I am sad to see summer come to a close, but I welcome fall and festival season. August is a great month for personal reflections and transitions.
Let’s enjoy some beautiful beach days, Angelie
August is my birth month <3
Happy and Blessed Birth Month, Maysz!
I feel like we didn’t get nearly as much done this summer as we planned. My flowers are dying and we have some passes for fun things left to do.
Start acting on the fun things now, Rachel.
The year is flying past at a faster pace this year for me…never realised August is already here and sooner than later Sept will be around..
We are already on the fourth day of August, Krish!
What a lovely post. I agree completely. August is a great month to reflect on the year so far and how we want the year to end.
Thank you!
Interesting take on August, and I can totally see where you’re coming from. Usually, by the time August comes around, we feel the cooler evenings, and think of autumn. But it’s been a crazy hot summer this year that I feel stuck in mid year!
It’s been rainy by me, Azlin!
August really is a fascinating month. I happen to have the entire month free, so I’m using my time to really work ahead and get everything prepared for the year ahead. It’s a perfect time to work hard since everyone is on vacation.
I hope you enjoy your free month to the fullest, Nina.
Girl yes!! August came on the fly this year! So fast. We have a bunch of August birthdays too so it’s always a month for change and reflection!
Take time to celebrate your loved ones, Lauren!
I agree with you when you said August is a perfect month to reflect on how we want to end the year… It’s a wonderful reflective time before we start another season and get in touch with our goals for the year. Hope you had a wonderful year yet dear!
I am enjoying this year with all the ups and downs, hope you are doing the same, Stephanie!
August has always been a transitional month for me. So excited to see what this month holds.
Wish you all the best, this month, Aisha!
Happy post! We are delighted to be doing just this at the moment as you mentioned …”take some time during this month to reconnect with nature, do something fun, go to a new place, and remember to create some memories…” This August, slow travelling in Himalayas, we are seeing how different the monsoon here is!
Enjoy and share great pics with us.
August is a great time to reflect and start new. I do this with my kids before the school year!
April
That’s wonderful, April!
Wow! Your Pictures are just awesome! And I agree. It is a good time to reflect because we are already halfway through the year. We can already gauge what we’ve accomplished and what still needs to be done. Great post!
Thank you, Nessy!
I never thought of it like that. August is really the month when we should reflect on how we’re gonna end the year. I going to start try finish up my goals before the year ends. thanks.
Good luck and remember to share your great tips with us.
So far, August had been a pretty hectic month for us. This week is no different. We are going out everyday because of my daughter’s activities. And on the weekend, we are going to have a birthday outing for the little one. I have to pack!
Hope you take it one day at a time, and still make time to enjoy the moment.
Beautiful post! I really like the idea of planning for how we want to end the year – I have a few changes coming up, and its good to think about how it can change the next 6 months!
Emily xx
Although change is not easy, it does allow us to grow.
