The rain has not stopped here in the Tampa Bay area, and rainy days call for comfort food, movie nights, and warm drinks.  What better than some spicy honey pork chops to bring some coziness in my home while it’s pouring outside.  These pork chops were so delicious that I could not help sharing the recipe with you.  If it’s raining a lot by you, do like us, play some oldies while enjoying these spicy honey pork chops. They are easy to make and taste delightfully good.

Spicy Honey Pork Chops

Ingredients

4 pork chops

¼ cup of Honey

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp paprika

Salt and Pepper

1 tbsp butter

2 medium shallots

¼ chicken broth or water

2 tbsp red wine vinegar

2 tbsp red hot sweet chili

Preparation

Preheat broiler on medium-high heat

Season pork chops with salt, pepper, paprika, and the garlic powder

Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.  Sear the pork chops on both sides until they are golden brown for about 5 minutes each side.

Transfer to a plate and set aside.

Reduce the heat, melt the butter.  Sauté the shallots and scrape up any brown bits.

Add the honey, red hot sweet chili, chicken stock, and vinegar.

Continue to cook the sauce until it is reduced and thickened.  Add the pork chop back into the pan, baste generously with the sauce and broil them for 2 minutes.

I served my pork chops with white rice and sautéed beans.

While it was gray outside, our house was warm.  We never stopped counting our blessings regardless of the circumstances.

  1. I am happy that I have a new porkchop recipe, thanks to you! This looks really good – sweet, spicy and delicious! Adding this dish to our meal plan for this week.

  2. Wow, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve had pork chops! I was forced to eat them so much as a kid, I honestly think I buried them in my subconscious and forgot they existed once I reached adulthood 😂 but these actually sound AND look really good! It might be time to get over those horrible childhood dinners and see if my tastebuds have grown..

  3. Those look mouth watering! I haven’t had pork chops in a while and these are making me hungry, I will have to try this out. Thanks for sharing this.

  4. The pics look awesome and the recipe is so simple. I am a vegetarian, but will definitely recommend it to my friends who love pork chops.

  5. while we don’t eat meat, i am going to try these with the tofu in my fridge …
and not sure if i just did not notice it before (but seems new to me), but love that new pic of yours at the top of your blog

  6. This looks like something that my husband would LOVE! He is drawn to anything with a ‘little kick’ in the recipe lol! I’m going to have to share this with him or make it as a surprise for him to come home to one day in the near future. I don’t eat meat, but I’m sure that I could tweak the recipe to work for me as well.
