Seize The Moment

We miss so much as we rush to fulfill our daily obligations.  We forget to take time to pause and seize the moment.  After a stressful day at work, I always make sure to take a little walk to the park to connect with nature.  It is such a blessing to enjoy the scent and the colors and soak in the beauty around me.

Connecting with nature

When it’s cold or freezing, we had our share this past winter; I usually sit in the car for 5 to 10 minutes before going inside the house.  I listen to some music and still find a way to get in touch with nature in the warmth of my car.

See the beauty in everything

Working in a stressful environment, I witness how people fight for their lives. I am looking at children who are unable to be kids as they are dealing with debilitating sicknesses.  I have learned to appreciate life. I have learned to enjoy simple pleasures and make every second count.

A walk in the park, Rahway River Park

As you are reading my post, stop for a minute and identify one thing you are grateful and from there, let’s seize the moment.

Together, let’s enjoy every second regardless of our circumstances.  It will come a time, where all those little moments that we are taking for granted will be wishes, missed opportunities, or regrets.  Remember the small things in life often have a deep impact.  Take time to live that one life we have.

Wake up early and take pleasure in the pure silence of your home

Take pleasure in sipping your cup of coffee

Enjoy a walk in the park and connect with nature

Let the sun caress your face and be thankful for it.

If it’s raining, smile and smell the freshness

Live, laugh, smile and don’t stress about tomorrow, things will take their course.  Only this minute is our present.

  1. This is so true! I need to work on this and take the time to enjoy each moment. The days rush by and we miss so much 🙂 Loved your post. It’s great advice that everyone needs to take into consideration.

  2. great post to remind people to sit and think about the things they are grateful for and cherish… seizing the moment is one of the best things you can do for yourself, to allow yourself to be in the present and aware of all the little things around you!
I’m grateful to have survived liver failure 6 years ago to a rare genetic disease (Wilson’s Disease). I wake up every morning grateful for another day of life I get to spend with my children, and I go to bed thankful for the day I just had (no matter if it’s a good or bad day)

    • You are a real trooper, Eloise. I am glad that you are able to enjoy each precious minute in life. Wishing you and your family all the best, and a life filled with blissful memories.

  3. I try to wake up before my kids to get that time in the morning. But today the sprinklers startled my youngest and he was up 45 minutes earlier than usual. My boys help me remember to slow things down because they are so curious about everything that we have no choice but to take things slow since they have about a gazillion questions about everything!

    • At night, I am too tired to enjoy my alone time, waking up early while everyone is asleep is so precious to me, Stephanie. Your boys are like my younger one, although they keep us busy, we better enjoy these moments, they grow way too fast.

  4. Hey Marjie,

What a motivational post, the places you take walks look lovely and its such a wonderful job you do but I can imagine can take its mental toll on you. I am sick so I am grateful for still being here and fighting on!

  6. Wow what a lovely post with such a beautiful and strong message! It can motivate anyone reading it…we all know the importance of enjoying silence but need to be reminded about it through posts like this…

  7. Absolutely agree! I find it super helpful to take a few moments to connect with nature and myself and really live in the moment. It helps me to re-focus for sure.

    • Flora,
Always remember the simple pleasures bring the greatest joys. Wishing you and your family an awesome month.

  8. Sipping my first cup of coffee in the morning is the best, but I do need to be more mindful – thanks for the reminder!

    • Take a moment to be grateful while you are enjoying that cup of coffee, Brandi, and you will see the difference it will make in your day.

  11. By just reading this post makes me go out and breathe in nature. It really is important to stop and simply feel the sun caress your face or feel the cool drizzle. Isn’t it great how a simple walk in the park can be an instant relaxer? Love this post such a great reminder.
