If you have been following my blog, you know every week I share a recipe on Marjie’s Table section. Although I enjoy cooking, I don’t have a lot of time, therefore, my recipes need to be simple, delicious, and easy to make. I am very pleased to say that I found an online book that meets all my cooking expectations.   Stephanie’s cookbook “OnePan30MinuteMealsCookbook” was sent to me for review and all the opinions shared on this post are mine.  Stephanie’s recipes are well written and easy to follow.  The pictures throughout the book are stunning and inviting.  I can’t wait to make all of them.

My daughter Yanah came back from her spring break vacation today.  She just spent one week in NJ with her older sister.  After dinner, I decided to treat her with this delicious Sautéed Apple that I got from Stephanie’s book.

This dessert was so delightful, both my daughter and I enjoyed it without any guilt.

Sautéed Apple with Ice-cream

Ingredients

4 apples

2 tbsp butter

3 tbsp brown sugar

½ tsp ground cinnamon

Vanilla ice-cream

Preparation

Peel and slice the apples

Pre-heat a medium skillet over medium to medium-high heat

Add butter to the skillet, then apples, and sauté 7 to 8 minutes, stirring often

Sprinkle with the brown sugar and cinnamon and cook for 2 more minutes

Spoon the sautéed apples into plate and top with a scoop of ice cream.  I decorate the apples with some mint leaves.

  1. Hi Marjie, I do hope that the recipe is for a dessert course because I’d never miss some good ice cream! And apples are also my favorite fruits.

  2. Omg, my mouth is watering. What I like most about this is, the fact that it is such a simple dessert to make. I am definitely going to make this soon, I have a ton of apples.

  3. Mmm, this looks so yummy! Actually makes me think this is a perfect grandma-kid recipe the next time my elderly MIL visits – she likes to cook with my girls, and this would be right up her alley, but she often needs a “cruise director” of sorts to oversee and facilitate 😉 …

  4. This looks so delicious and reminds me of the sautéed apple my late aunt used to make for an apple caramel cake. I’d love to have some of this apple and ice cream spooned over crepes 🙂

  5. Oh yes. I’m gonna try this. Apple pie without the crust. Everything’s better with ice cream. Have you ever tried Almond Milk Ice Cream? It’s delicious.
