For a long time, I thought I had to be a certain way for others to love me. Then I realized something was missing deep inside. I started being true to myself and doing things that I love and more importantly, I started accepting, loving myself with all my flaws. I discovered a sense of freedom, and people that really mean the world to me love me the way I am.

I think as I’ve gotten older I have learned this as well. Learning to be myself has meant that the relationships I have with others are deeper and more meaningful. There might not be as many relationships, but the ones I have are quality!

It can take time and experience to realize that you can’t change who you are for anyone. I learned this in college, and have been accepting more and more since becoming a mother. My husband and my boys love me how I am, and they are the most important, so why would I change who I am for anyone else?

Wisdom definitely comes with age! I hope my little girl learns self love sooner than I did. For me lately self love has been about nutrition. Not worrying about how my post party body is different than it was before, and just being kind to my body and nourishing it with the best food. ❤️
