This past month of June has taught me that I am so far from having it all figured out. It was about heartache, a situation that broke me to pieces, but I have gathered the strength to put the little pieces back together and keep walking that walk.
This month started with a great network event with my ACHE program committee. It’s so fascinating to see that we were in June, and yet we were planning next year’s activities. After that meeting, I started questioning my personal life and realized that what I had planned for this year had not happened, and half the year had gone by. I am pausing to see if I planned it correctly and whether I layered my plan properly. What did I do wrong? How can I recalibrate and end the year more successfully?
Of course, the beach is where I always find my peace, so lots of beach days to recharge my soul.

I celebrated my friend’s children’s graduation. Graduation has a different meaning for me as I write this post, thinking about it: it means closing a chapter, celebrating hard work, and, most importantly, pausing to see how far you’ve come and saying I did this and deserve to smile.
I flew to NJ to attend the Home Care and Hospice Association of NJ annual conference. As a nurse, my goal is to grow, connect, and network with fellow healthcare leaders, and learn how to be a better nurse, a better leader, and most importantly, how to better make a difference in the lives of those who need me, those for whom I have entered that profession of service and caring.
The end of the month also brought the end of a short chapter in my life that I thought was beautiful, that I thought was going to become something substantial, but I feel like the universe knows what we need, and often what we think we need is not necessarily the right one, but I have learned to trust the process. One thing is for sure, as a chapter is ending, I was able to find strength in my tribe, those friends that can hear our silent cry, those friends that can see through the rehearsed smile and come and help bring the genuine one to our face.

June was a month of growing, a month where I am going to learn to start over, a month where shedding tears made me lighter, a month where I need to pause, breathe, rebuild from the ashes, and find myself again.
