Gratitude matters

On this beautiful Thursday morning, as we are celebrating Thanksgiving in the United States, let’s take a minute to focus on what really matters: health, family, friends, caring, giving, loving, and showing appreciation.

As I am reflecting on my purpose on this earth and my many blessings, I want to share with you some of my favorite quotes about gratitude.

Be thankful for what you have, you will end up having more.  If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never ever have enough.  Oprah Winfrey

Learn to be thankful for what you already have while you pursue all that you want. Jim Rohn

It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy that makes happiness.  Charles Spurgeon

I am thankful for being able to manage my chronic condition and live fully every day.  I am thankful for my family, my friends, and all the people I am blessed to serve and help as a nurse.

Seeds of discouragement cannot take root in a grateful heart.  Choose to see the best in every situation.  Joel Osteen.

Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer. Let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good.  Maya Angelou

The struggle ends when gratitude begins. Neale Donald Walsch.

There are days where we cannot see past our struggles; if we take a minute to look back at our blessings and be thankful for them, that will bring us joy, hope, a faint smile, and some unknown strength to overcome the challenges.

Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.  William Arthur Ward

Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions.  The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for. Zig Ziglar

Gratitude is the single most important ingredient to living a successful and fulfilled life.  Jack Canfield

Wherever you are, be grateful, be fully present, and be thankful the little things, as I always say, they always lead to a rich and beautiful life. Gratefully, Marjie

  1. Beautiful post and a wonderful reminder! You have some beautiful quotes here. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We spent a few days at a condo in Destin with my parents and just had a perfect end to the week watching my UCF Knights finish their undefeated season with a win!!

  2. Thats true, its like when you look at what other have, you will think, you have nothing. Good read, thank you for sharing this :).

  3. You are so right! We ALWAYS have so much to be thankful for! I spent this Thanksgiving at my in-laws’, far from home, sicker than a dog and wishing I could be curled up in my own bed, sleeping more than I was awake, and with zero appetite/nauseous half the time. So I focused on being thankful for my hubby and girls, and that I neither had to host nor cook the holiday meal!

  4. I love listening to Oprah and her quote is just it: ‘Be thankful for what you have, you will end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never ever have enough.’
I choose to consciously live with that attitude of gratitude.

    • Same for me, Dalene, I choose to live a life of gratitude and I am grateful for every step, every challenge that I overcome, and rejoice all the simple blessings.
