December 2019, counting my blessings

And just like that, we are in December 2019

The year 2019 flew by, and I cannot believe we are at its last month. It was such an incredible year for my family and me. We are thankful for everything and will not let the many challenges that we have faced overcast our many blessings.  Today is another present to cherish, and we want to share it with you.

Most of us have many plans for this month, remember to slow down and enjoy the moment.  Heading into this festive season of giving can be stressful.  It is very important to take a minute to breathe and hold tight to love, joy, and peace.

Often, we tend to lose momentum and forget the true meaning of this magical time of year.  Before spending a fortune on material gifts, remember what matters the most in life is usually priceless. Take the time to call that uncle, visit that aunt, go to your child’s school to read a book, and help a neighbor.  I am sure a simple act of love and caring will have an everlasting impact and will transform their holiday.

Again, let me reiterate how grateful I am for all of you who took the time to visit my blog, comment, and click through it for those past two years. I wish you and your family the happiest and loveliest holiday season.

  1. December is special to me and my family. It is not only Christmas season for us, it is also a birthday month in our family. I am so thankful we are close enough to celebrate it and we a have a chance to. December is also the time when I most thankful for being able to live through yet another wonderful year!

    • May your month of December be filled with wonderful blessings, Lyosha, Happy to all who celebrate their birthdays in your family.

  2. Thank you for this timely reminder. Before we get lost in the innumerable gift guides, we must remind ourselves that jesus is the reason for the season. May you have a blessed Christmas.

  3. Merry Christmas! It’s kinda heartbreaking to see so much focus on gifts, material possessions, etc. during a holiday that we often refer to with such love. When did society as a whole start to shift from showing care and compassion during the holiday season to shoving one another out of the way unapologetically to get to the latest sale? Thank you for the reminder to take a step back and reevaluate.

  4. I totally wish all of the best for you in 2020 and I love this post! Thank you for reminding us all of the importance of thereon… or the reason for the season as to many forget and I am so very thankful as well 😉 Thank you and have a blessed holiday!

  5. I can’t believe the year is coming to a close already, too! We have so many more things planned this month. It’s such a busy time of the year, but so good to be able to spend it with family.

  6. Happy holidays! And thank you for this sweet reminder. Sometimes we are in a rush and don’t appreciate what is around us. And for me, Christmas is a the ending of the year is a perfect moment to think about this.

  7. How true! The festive season often does get hectic, especially for those who organize get-togethers and parties. Simple gifts are the best… what counts most is the togetherness.

  8. Happy holidays to you and your family. This year has really flown by for me too. Just thinking that it was August a while ago seems crazy, anyway we should be grateful and to many more to come.

  9. Yes, 2019 absolutely flew by! It’s easy to get caught up in the holiday stress, but slowing down and spending time with loved ones or doing acts of kindness really captures the meaning of Christmas! Season’s greetings to you!

  10. Thank you for the kind reminder. Wishing you and your family a happy Christmas and a lovely new year. Time is precious and it is vital to show gratitude and appreciation during the Christmas season and every other season.
