Hosting our monthly book club meeting tonight was so much fun. We discussed the book “Before we were yours” by Lisa Wingate. Delicious appetizers and wine made the gathering even better. One of the appetizers that I served my guests was a delicious cheesy Cajun shrimp dip. It was creamy with the perfect hint of spice.
Cheesy Cajun Shrimp Dip
Ingredients
1 lb. medium shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
3 tbsp. white wine
1 red bell pepper chopped
4 cloves of garlic finely chopped
½ of small red onion diced
1 cup parmesan cheese
1 cup mozzarella cheese
¼ cup cream cheese
¼ sour cream
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
Salt and pepper
Parsley flakes to decorate
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
In a skillet, add the oil over medium heat. Add the red bell pepper and the red onion, cook for about 2 to 3 minutes.
Add salt, pepper, pepper flakes, and Cajun spice. Stir in the shrimp and the white wine, and cook until the shrimp are pink.
Add the sour cream and the cheeses.
Pour the mixture into a baking dish, sprinkle with parsley flakes. Bake until lightly browned and bubbly. Serve with crackers.
This looks so good and would make a great appetizer for a night hanging in with friends.
My girl friends love it and nothing was left, Alisa!
Thank looks so good. I know that this is cajun but with my background I want to try it with a little habanero too. Would love to see this at my boom club.
OMG, Talamay, Habanero would give such a special spicy flavor. Next time, I will add it.
Looks and sounds quite delicious. Must try it the next time I get shrimps.
You can also try with chicken, Bindu!

This looks like a perfect appetizer! My mom is extremely allergic to shellfish, so this is the kind of thing I like to make for my dad whenever he comes to visit without her. I’ll have to try that next time I get a chance!
You can replace the shrimp with chicken, Stephanie, it is equally delicious.
This looks so good and simple to make. I love finding new dishes to make with shrimp.

This looks really tasty. I have to see if we have Cajun seasoning in Japan. Is there any other seasoning can replace it?
You can skip the Cajun or use any spicy seasoning of your choice, Aisasami, the possibilities are endless.

It’s easy, Anshika!
Such a creative shrimp recipe! I’m not a huge fan of seafood, but I’m sure hubby will love this.
If you can, make it for your hubby, Liz!
Tried seafood but haven’t had a taste of shrimp yet. But would love it…if it looks this good in a dip. Good enough, I love dips!
Dips always make any gathering more fun.
I love cajun shrimp ANYTHING! but unlike normal people, I don’t prefer cheese in my dips.. yeah I’m weird like that! but do you see any other ingredient I could use instead?
I am a cheese lover, Nati, and can have it every day, I would go for some tomatoes sauce with a little cream.
This is such a great dish for a party! Anything with cheese is usually a hit.
I second that, Christa!
This recipe looks both simple and delicious. I may give it a go next family gathering.
