April 1, 2019, not April Fool

April 1, 2019

Is it really April 1st, or is time fooling me?  Well, I must say, no matter how fast the month of March went by, it was filled with encouragement, hope, and determination.

Now I am ready to enter the second quarter of the year.  Three months have gone by slowly in 2019.  Let’s take a minute to pause and assess how to better start and live this month of April.

I was determined to grow and do something positive the past month.  I have joined Southshore Toastmasters, a group focused on public speaking and leadership.  I participated in three speech contests.   I won the first two and came second in the third one which was the Division level.  Although I will not move to the next level, that will not stop me.  I will continue my purpose to grow, learn, and give.

As far as my goals to save and to spend mindfully, I am taking it one day at a time.  Some days, I succeed.  Some days, I shut down everything and forget my good resolutions.  What do I do with that?  As a normal human being, no matter how determined we are, we fail and we will fall sometimes, and it is okay.  We must pick up ourselves up, brush off the dust, and move on.  This is exactly what I am doing.  I am not condemning myself, I am learning from my mistakes, and I am trying other methods to help me stay on track.

I wish you all the best for this month of April.  Take the time to reflect on your blessings.  Reassess your goals and make a plan to renew your commitment and keep moving.  Forgive yourself, live, laugh, and find someone to help.  If we support each other, we will succeed.

  1. I also wish a happy April. Everything just go so fast that I forget it’s a new year. This month is about doing the best and learning to forgive instead of being hard on myself.

  2. What an inspiring post! I hope you have a wonderful April! I need to look back on some of my goals I made at the start of the year to see how I’m getting on and what I still need to work on to achieve them…

  3. Congrats on the speaking contests! I did Speech and Debate (but only the Speech part) in high school and it was so nervewracking. I am ready for April and hopefully warmer weather. It’s not even hitting 70 in south Texas today and that’s just not acceptable for April for me!

  4. Beautiful thoughts here. I too firmly believe in helping each other out. This world definitely needs more compassion.

  5. I didn’t even realize it was April already until I logged into social media to get work done. What a beautiful write up to welcome April. May this month find you with many blessings.

  6. The year has flown by actually. Wow! Already April! I want to do Toastmaster too as I hate public speaking so much…ugh…but it’s a skill that must be had. Well done!

  7. Love this! I think I need to make some quarterly assessments on where I am in achieving my goals. I’m glad you achieve a lot during the first quarter.

  8. I love that you made the first of the month important and focused on goal setting as I do the same. I set blog goals for April: 600 followers on each social media platform, increase SEO and go self hosted!

  9. Happy April! How lovely that you took the plunge to join a public speaking and leadership group! Keep up the good work and positivity! That’s the only way to reach our goal.

  10. Yeah! It so fast and now it’s the month of April. I love the way you thinking your goals! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

  11. That’s great you are giving yourself the freedom to forgive one’s self for mistakes. It’s really the only way that you can move forward. Hope the second quarter goes well for you.

  12. I must tell you April 1st was fooling me here in Austin with the weather hahaha it was really cold! I thought winter would never live even though it looks like spring was in full swing just the day before
