Lao Tzu said the journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. That little number one is powerful enough to bring tremendous results. One second can make the difference between a winner and a runner up. All the great achievements in this world started with one bright idea. Therefore, all it takes is one... One action, one step, one act of kindness, one step, one smile could change anything for the best.
Everyday people cross our path, and we can never be certain who needs our help. It is imperative to reach out by doing one act of kindness or saying one positive word. This might look simple, but it could have an incredible impact on others. Always do that one good deed that we think is ordinary. It does matter.
Whenever we are facing changes and struggles, never forget that one effort, one try can unlock the door to success. Never give up before trying one more time. I am certain by putting all our energy and good intention, that last attempt will yield to unexpected results.
Our big dreams often seem unattainable but the only thing that separates us from the finish line is that one step. When we feel like that we are not enough, just recall we have one day to make it happen, one more time to take that one step. Never underestimate the power of one…
I love this! So true never underestimate it! What a beautifully written post!
Thank you, Neely!
This is awesome and so true! Make every moment matter. Plus, I always have a soft spot for that quote… it’s one of my husband’s favorites and he used it when he proposed to me, asking me to take the next step with him!
My sister in law has her favorite quote frame and gave it to her hubby for their tenth anniversary, I thought it was sweet and special.
I agree. One really spell a difference. One means never look for number 2.
So true, Ramil!
You said this so WELL. Yes, it’s so true! Just one step in the right direction and another and another….they all add up to a really great change. What a great post!
Thank you, Amanda!
Yes, in addition.. how big the wall is, if there is one hole in it.. then overcoming that wall is now easy.
I like that, Michael!
Yes, we have to enjoy every step and cherish our hardwork. It’s ok to feel sad and take break when everything is overwhelming. But, at the end hardwork will return us good success fruits.
Exactly, Anagha!
What a wonderful post as it makes you deeply think of each action as it could help your or someone’s future.
Let’s make each action counts, Aisasami!
That is a great quote. It’s so important to make the most of every moment.
I agree, HollY!
What an inspirational post. It motivated me. True, all it takes is the first initial step. Lovely quote too.
Thank you, Arun!

Yes, I could not agree more and I am always saying this. One person can be powerful and make a difference x
All it takes, is one, Melanie!
I used to be afraid to venture out of my comfort zone (work-wise). However, when I finally decided that it was time to quit the job I had for a decade and follow my passion, I never looked back! I wasn’t receiving the same amount of money, but that one step out of my comfort zone was truly liberating. No more stress and I am happy I did take that step.
Kuddo, Kristine, thanks for sharing and inspiring us, Kristine, wishing you much more success!
Aww, Marjie, this is just the encouragement I needed! It has been a REALLY rough week around here – one of our girls is having a rough end to the school year – and it feels as if the proverbial end-of-tunnel light is millions of miles away. But we’ve taken a few steps forward.
We are all connected, Flossie, and needs to support each other. I am glad that my post has helped a little. You and your daughter should know that the light is closer than you think. Blessings!
Cant agree more! No matter how small or big we want to achieve, it is always detected by that one step we choose to take or not! And it’s common to forget to take a step especially when it gets tough, yet it’s just that one step that’s so needed.
I agree, Dalene, sometimes, we tend to give up when we are so close to the final point.
Thank you so much for this inspirational post. As someone who is always afraid of taking the first step when I’m faced by an unfamiliar situation, this post will be really helpful.
So glad to hear that, Nahashon, also remember we achieve the most growth when we leave our comfort zone.
I totally agree with that. I also like the words Lao Tzu and I try to remember that the journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. Which is not always easy.
I have that quote in my office, Ewa!
