It was supposed to be a beautiful four-day weekend filled with fun, exciting events, good food, and a little time for myself. And for the most part, that’s exactly what it was… until it wasn’t.
Thursday: Haunted Rodeo
I was so excited to attend Yelp’s Haunted Rodeo event! As a foodie, the thought of sampling all the wonderful food, mingling with fellow Yelpies, and dressing up in my rodeo-inspired outfit was enough to get me excited.
Keeping it simple, I put together my look with a denim short jumpsuit, fringed boots, and a few cowgirl accessories. Nothing too complicated, just enough to get into the spirit of the event.

As expected, it was another great event, beautifully put together. Good food, good vibes, and great company. What more could a girl ask for?
Friday: Rest and Recharge
Friday was all about taking it easy. I knew I had a 5K Bubble Run coming up on Saturday, so I wanted to give my body some much-needed rest before the big day.
Saturday: Bubbles, Miles, and Rain
The Bubble Run was exactly what I expected: fun, messy, and tiring! It felt good to get out there, enjoy the experience, and challenge myself a little.

After the run, the rain decided to join the party. So, naturally, I took that as my cue to head home, sleep, and let my body recover. Sometimes, doing absolutely nothing is exactly what you need.
Sunday: Brunch for One
With no plans on the agenda, I decided to take myself to my usual solo brunch date at Tibby’s. You know I can never pass up an opportunity to enjoy some good Creole and Southern-inspired food! Add music to the mix, and you have the perfect recipe for a relaxing Sunday.

Good food, good music, and my own company. As a foodie, what more could I ask for?
Everything seemed to be going just fine. Four days of fun, rest, movement, and little moments of happiness. I thought I was simply wrapping up a lovely long weekend.
But then came Sunday Evening and Monday…
Somewhere between the plans I made and the weekend I thought I was having, everything took an unexpected turn. And just like that, the mood changed.
The pain runs so deep that I can’t quite put it into words. Some things are too heavy to explain, too personal to share, and too raw to turn into a blog post. For now, all I can do is take things one day at a time, learn to let go, and somehow find a way to move forward.
I wish I could tell you what happened. Maybe one day I will.
But for now, I’ll leave you with one word…
Abresive?
What does it mean? What happened that Sunday evening and Monday afternoon? And why does this one word hold so much more than I’m ready to share?
To be continued…

I’ve had moments like that, where something wonderful comes to an end on a somber note. I hope you take only the strength from the experience and never allow the negativity of the world to dim your light. On another note, I can’t wait to read the story of “Abresive”! The suspense is building, and my curiosity is definitely getting the best of me!
