Nowadays, we often hear the term ‘Self-Love’ and its importance. Do you really love yourself? Do you also take care of yourself the way you care for your loved ones? Do you respect yourself like you respect others? Do you over expect from yourself? Even though many of us claim to love ourselves, too often we are harsh on ourselves and don’t give ourselves the love, respect, and care that we deserve.

Women especially often ignore themselves as they are too busy taking care of their kids, husbands, friends, and other family members. Self-love according to me involves self-care, self-respect, and self-confidence. Unless we take care of ourselves, respect ourselves, and believe in ourselves, we cannot give positive energy to others. Charity begins at Home; therefore, we must first love ourselves and make time for ourselves.

Pursue a hobby

Do whatever makes you happy; singing, dancing, reading, writing, cooking anything! It will relax you and will work as a great stress buster.

Eat What You Love

You must watch what you are eating and avoid those empty calories foods.  That does not mean to deprive yourself of your favorite snacks.  Actually, treating yourself once in a while will elevate your mood.

Do a Little Workout

Even if you have a very busy schedule, be sure to make some time to exercise daily. It will keep you fit and boost your confidence. You can also do a fun workout like dancing, playing, or running around with your baby!

Be Spiritual

Make time for regular prayers every morning and evening. Remembering God and thanking Him for His gifts is very important for all of us.

Don’t Nag Yourself

You might not be able to achieve certain goals as you have planned. It happens to all of us, don’t feel mad or even depressed. Learn to forgive yourself as you forgive others. Always be kind and gentle with yourself.

Keep Smiling

Last but not least, enjoy every single moment and keep smiling.

Today, I would like to encourage you to be kind, gentle, caring, and loving towards yourself. Your life will be happier and more meaningful if you practice self-love. Be a strong person who can spread love and positivity wherever you go 🙂  Deeksha Tripathi

  1. Pursuing a hobby is such a good one – we all have so many hobbies as kids and then we grow up and most of them disappear. But it is so important to do something different that isn’t work-related, and that you can challenge yourself with. Last year I learned to knit!
    Great post!
