Last month I wrote a post on how I let the pain go to better appreciate life http://marjiesimpleword.com/let-it-go/ . I could not help thinking if letting the pain go is the same as forgiving. I came across that quote which answered my question. “When you forgive you heal. When you let go, you grow.” Unknown.
Today is Good Friday, and Forgiveness fits well with the Easter season. What can better demonstrate forgiveness than this beautiful Holiday? How can you love to the point of forgiving as Jesus did for us on the cross? He forgave us and gave his Life for us.
Forgiveness is beyond religion and faith. Even if you are not celebrating Easter, forgiveness is something that you must do for yourself to live a better life. It is hard to forgive, it is very painful, but the more you hold on, the more you hurt yourself. If you want to find peace, you have to find a way to forgive. I want to share those beautiful quotes about forgiveness and hopefully, someday, you will be able to forgive and find Peace, Joy, and Love.
To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you. Lewis B. Smedes
Well, after living some painful experiences, I realize when I forgive, it’s more beneficial for me and brings my soul peace. As you know, sometimes, apology, can’t really erase the pain. I am always hopeful of a better tomorrow and will not let the hurt of the past takeover of my present or dictate my future.
Look back in forgiveness, forward in hope, down in compassion, and up in gratitude. Zig Ziglar
Some experiences are so painful that we block them, we don’t want to relive them, but after a while, we have to agree that we have matured and we have become stronger.
True Forgiveness is saying thank you for that experience. Oprah Winfrey
Forgiveness is about empowering yourself, rather than empowering your past. T. D. Jakes
“Never forget the three powerful resources you always have available to you: Love, Prayer, and Forgiveness”. Harriet Jackson Brown, Jr
