To me, the essence of the holiday season is to bring the family closer.  What better way to enjoy that closeness than by sharing some delicious meal, watching movies, and creating memories?  For our movie night, we savored my delicious apple crumble pie with some ice cream.  We had such a wonderful time, and the laughter was priceless.

Wherever you are, I hope you take the time to enjoy the little things with your loved ones.  The little moments make the holiday magical.

Apple Crumb Pie

Ingredient

1 frozen 9-inch pie shell

6 green apples

½ lemon juice

½ cup granulated sugar

¼ cinnamon powder

¼ nutmeg

For the crumb topping

1 cup oats

1 cup brown sugar

1 stick unsalted butter

½ cup all-purpose flour

¼ tsp salt

¼ cup pecans, chopped

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees

In a bowl, mix the apples, lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.  Set the mixture aside.

In another bowl, cut the butter into the flour, then add the brown sugar, the oats, the pecans, and the salt.

Place the pie shell in a baking dish, add the apple mixture to it, and top with the crumb mixture.

Bake for 1 hour.

Let it cool for a while and enjoy it with your favorite ice-cream.

Happy Holidays!

  1. This is perfect timing! I was thinking about making this the other day. I have loads of apples in my kitchen and I’m super excited to make some apple crumbles. There’s only so many apples smoothies I can make. 😂 Thank you for sharing. x

  2. Okay so that may be the coolest Apple Pie I have ever seen! I dont think I have ever had or even heard of a crumble pie topping made with oats or that looks like more of a granola type topping. But to be honest, that sounds awesome! Dont get me wrong, I like a normal pie topping but that just looks like a warm oatmeal, granola type of breakfast that would be perfect for sitting around on a cold night!

  3. Ooh yes Apple Crumb Cake is one of my most favorite desserts to eat throughout the year! You can NEVER go wrong with it and I always serve it with ice cream like you as well!
